COOPERATIVENESS
BWM believes in the importance of cooperative economics. We promote and uphold an equitable exchange of resources, tools, and people so that we can grow, thrive, and build a balanced infrastructure for black and indigenous communities worldwide.
MUTUAL AID
At BWM we prioritize being of service to African and indigenous communities. We need to take care of our own people first, then others. Many people of color have been left to fend for themselves. Interdependence and the ability to grow and be sustainable from the inside out is key. The partners that we work with participate in our community and are uplifted by BWM yet thrive on their own. Reciprocity means giving and receiving the proper support and building relationships so that we can thrive to maintain our empowerment around education, culture, freedom, and economic growth.
CULTURAL AMBASSADORS
The BWM community are the gatekeepers of our own information, public image, and history. We are taking control of the narrative of how POC show up in the community locally and globally. How we present ourselves in different spaces is our choice and our responsibility to shape.
